Typically there are two belts on your treadmill. One connects the drive motor to typically the front roller or “drive roller”. This is sometimes called the “motor belt” or “drive belt”.
The second belt is the large belt that provides the surface that one would walk or run on. These are sometimes called “running belts” or “walking belts” interchangeably in the industry.
This never made sense to me since I have never seen a belt run or walk. Several years ago I coined the term “treadbelt” which caught on somewhat and is more accurate in my opinion.
In all of my communications I try to limit my descriptions of the two belts as “drive belts” and “treadbelts”.
However, when you go to order a treadbelt you may see the term “walking belt”, “running belt” used.
In the case of a drive belt you may see the term “motor belt” used.
