This was just a regular service and maintenance call in Brunswick Maine.  I checked over, cleaned, lubed and adjusted this NordicTrack T 5.3 Treadmill that otherwise had no problems or issues.

They were using an outdated electrical outlet with no ground.  In addition the outlet was worn out so plugs fit very loose. In addition they were using an extension cord that was too long and a little too light duty (14 gauge) potentially causing too much voltage drop by the time the power got to the motor control board.

If an extension cord is needed to reach the nearest outlet I recommend keeping them as short as possible and at least as heavy as the treadmills power cord which is typically a 12-3 cord (12 gauge, grounded).
