The one extra item that I think every treadmill owner should have is a Treadmill Mat.

Carpeted Floors: A common issue I encounter with treadmills placed on carpeted floors is the compression of the carpet fibers over time, which can damage the carpet.

A second issue is that the treadbelt will pick up carpet fibers, pet hair, and other debris as the walking belt moves underneath the treadmill, running just above the floor. It deposits everything it picks up in the drive motor compartment.
